Chapter 1: Hello??
I don't know where I am. It's dark and I can't even see my hand in front of my face. It's just pitch black darkness. I also don't know how long it's been. I try to keep track by counting but I lost track quite some time ago. I sit in the middle of what I guess is a large room.
I've tried to find a wall but to no avail, darkness was the only thing I found. I should try again but I'm tired and hungry. I hear my stomach yell at me for food as if it was a two year old begging for ice cream before dinner.
I probably have all the time in the world to sleep but I don't want whoever captured me to come for me while I sleep and bring me somewhere else. So I don't sleep. Instead I stand up and continue forward stepping carefully not to step on or in anything. I hold my hands out in front of me so I don't run into the wall that I'm looking for.
I trust my senses that are available with no sight. I listen to the still air waiting for any other noise other than my boots on the ground. I use my smell just in case I smell something dead getting closer. Or any other smell that can help me identify where I am. I also trust in my touch feeling for a wall or door that will help me get somewhere other than the darkness around me.
I keep walking forward, listening, smelling, searching. I get a feeling that something is close. I know that it's that feeling because it's the same as if your eyes were closed and you try to walk around your house. I move a bit faster keeping my hands out still searching ignoring how tired my arms are.
SNAP!
I stepped on something and screamed as it was a sudden sound in the stillness. I slowly bend down and feel for what it was. Please don't be a bone. Please don't be a bone. It was wooden. I felt a bit more of it getting the shape in my head while I gently trace it being carful not to get a splinter.
It's a wooden plank. It must have fallen from somewhere. Or was just left here. I searched around for more of these planks and hit my head on something hard. I was on my hands and knees so I wasn't paying attention to what was in front of me.
I reached up and felt a handle. Yes!! Finally a door! Please be unlocked... I turned the handle but it was locked. Figures. I go back to the wooden plank and pick it up. It was thick and steady so I was hopeful that it would break the handle off.
I was glad I had a good sense of direction. If I didn't I might have gotten lost again. I found the handle and set the plank on top of it. Pulled back and slammed it onto the handle. It hit the floor with a clanck. I dropped the plank with hope and reached for where the handle had been. I pushed slightly and it creaked open.
It's about time I got somewhere. Ignoring my hunger and tired body I moved through the door to see where it took me.
